    Bait pile

On the contest thread, legs in the air asked about my bait. Instead of replying there, I'll start a new thread.
The main staple for my "meatsicle" is cheap dog food. I use a large plastic garbage container, add dog food, used cooking oil, and basically food scraps. Mix it all up with water and let it freeze solid. Once frozen, I pour hot water on the outside of the tub so that the plastic lets go of the contents. I then use my quad (weighs about 150 to 200 lbs) to haul er away, tip it upside down, a couple of gentle taps with a hammer and wa'lla, "meatsicle". There's not much left of it now, but because of that first "big chunk", they have learned where the dinner bell is, so now I just top it off with loose dog food and food scraps. Those aren't pumpkins in my latest contest photo, they are actually triangular pieces of bread and assorted leftover food scraps. I consider myself as doing my part to save the environment with less garbage going to the landfill.
Here is a photo of the first yote with most of the "meatsicle" intact.

I have thought about using a programmable deer feeder with cat food in it. Good idea?

i have 3 pigsicles in the freezer for next year for this same purpose.

5 gallon pale, pig hide lining it with the guts inside, freeze solid and voila, pigsicles.
Coyote calling is like taking a wizz outside. never face upwind.

Thanks for posting this info, gonna have to try this next year.

Lots of sign out back of my place but they're quite call shy, so I think they just need a little encouragement.

hey boys been working on a poultry farm here the past 2 months and the coyotes are all over the place I have my spot picked for the next season. The boss gave me full permission to shoot any and all coyotes on his property.
